Le conflit russo-ukrainien a eu peu d'impact sur l'approvisionnement en cuivre chinois

In terms of copper reserves, the GLOBAL copper reserves are about 870 million tons and production is 20 million tons as of 2019, according to the US Geological Survey's Mineral Commodity Summaries 2020. The country with the largest copper reserves is Chile, with about 200 million tons; Peru and Australia are next with 87m tonnes each. Russia has about 61m tonnes of copper reserves but produces only about 750,000 tonnes.

From the perspective of China's copper imports, In 2021, China imported 23.404 million tons of copper ore and concentrate, among which Chile and Peru imported the most, 8.882 million tons and 5.543 million tons respectively, and almost no copper ore and concentrate from Russia.




In terms of global refined copper production, data from the Global Copper Study Group (ICSG) show that in 2020, the global refined copper production was 24.505,000 tons, while Russia produced 1,036,000 tons of copper, accounting for only 4.2 percent . China's refined copper imports mainly come from Chile, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Japan, Peru and other countries, and very little from Russia.
